BLAIRGOWRIE and Rattray Highland Games committee has now reached the stage of regular monthly meetings in their planning for this year’s event and, as ever, they would welcome volunteers for the committee.

A BLAIRGOWRIE park used by families is in a condition described by one town councillor as “worse than ever”. Ashy Park, which is situated between Arthur Street and Provost Road, has become the site for underage drinkers to meet.

BLAIRGOWRIE’S latest community police officer this week vowed “to get out of the car and on to the street”. PC Louise Turner (32), who was appointed to her new role on January 31, brings three years‘ experience from the streets of Dundee.

BEHIND the doors of a modest building on Reform Street in Blairgowrie is a world time forgot. Sitting, as if waiting to be used again, are machines from another age, some in workable condition, ready to print another Blairie, 34 years after the last press rolled.
